As the Market Conduct Junior Compliance Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the growth and development of the global Market Conduct compliance function at Glencore. The role will report to the Market Conduct Compliance Officer in Switzerland and support them in implementing all aspects of the Market Conduct Compliance Programme for our metals and coal businesses in Switzerland.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in performing annual risk assessments with the trading departments including assisting with interviews, completion of assessment templates, assembly of quantitative data and presentation back to key stakeholders.
  • Assist in delivery of training and development of training materials, policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Develop capabilities to deliver advice to front-office personnel across:
  • Exchange rules (primarily for trading occurring on LME)
  • Price Reporting Agency engagement
  • Compliant Communications
  • Market Abuse
  • Insider Dealing
  • Support the documentation of the Market Conduct Programme including notes of key meetings with stakeholders, documentation of commercial rationales and other file notes.
  • Coordinate with the Baar Market Conduct Compliance Officer to provide responses to external regulators and exchanges.
  • Liaise with the surveillance team to investigate and resolve trade and communications surveillance alerts.
  • Support ongoing implementation projects.

Essential Qualifications And Experience Required For The Role.

  • Bachelor’s degree (further professional education a beneficial qualification)
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience. Experience in a trading or commodities environment would be preferable.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic team player.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills and ability to multitask and prioritise tasks.
  • Knowledge of compliance, risk assessment, audit, or assurance processes would be an asset.
  • Familiarity with international legal and regulatory frameworks, specifically those related to commodities trading, would be beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel to Glencore’s other locations for up to 10% of time.
